in March I started the ketogenic diet -- where almost 80% of my calories came from fat, about 15% from protein and about 5% from carbs.
The first week was amazing -- I showed a lot of weight loss. (5 lbs. approximately). But nothing else after that. For the next 2 1/2 months I went without potatoes and my morning oatmeal, and even my sprouted grain bread (that I think tastes disgusting but I love my grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup). I was already pretty much grain free with the exception of rice about once a week, and potatoes and oatmeal. I already avoid processed food and sugars -- only eating raw honey, coconut palm sugar or maple syrup in moderation.
I was not feeling any better. Sluggish, insomnia, no weight loss. I was in ketosis according to my ketone strips that I tested a couple times a day. My thyroid symptoms seemed to be getting worse.
