Here is the recipe:
- 2 T each of carob powder and raw cacao powder
- 2 T of butter
- 1 teaspoon of gelatin powder (I use Great Lakes Gelatin)
- Pinch of Himalayan pink salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of homemade vanilla extract
- Stevia to taste
- Heavy whipping cream (to taste -- I usually put in 2 oz!!!)
I like mine sweet so I use about a half teaspoon of stevia and 12 oz of hot water, (I know this is bad, but I boil in the microwave right now). In the past I would either use a tea kettle or my Culligan water bottle that had a hot water dispenser.
I mix everything up (I melt the butter when there is 45 seconds left in the microwave and just stick it in the water that is heating up). Oh my this is SO good. And lots of healthy fats. I would add coconut oil as well, if I didn't already consume 2 T of coconut oil after I oil pulled and rinsed my mouth out in the morning.
You may be thinking "that is a lot of fat" -- it sure is. But fat is NOT the enemy. The latest Time magazine report even stated that healthy saturated fats are beneficial. I usually use the Anchor brand of butter (from New Zealand). It is one of the better choices where I live, and it tastes amazing.
