Naked Nutrition and Wholesome Ingredients

It is very hard to know what products and supplements to purchase, and unless you have a PhD in label reading and ingredients, you can't trust anyone or any company! I especially don't trust any direct sales / multi-level marketing companies because they have to have such a large profit margin to make money since they have different levels of payouts. So it is very common for them to cut corners on many of their ingredients (for example, like ascorbic acid for vitamin C, or cyanocobalamin for vitamin B12. If I see those ingredients in the product I immediately know corners have been cut).

People can call me out for this opinion, but it is true. And if they are selling a product with these ingredients in it, they will make up an excuse as to why they are ok or become defensive. It actually is just better to learn and realize a specific product may not actually be as good as you think it is!

And maybe sometimes you are fine with the product except that specific ingredient, and you are willing to overlook it even though you know it is not a good quality ingredient, because the product fits all your other requirements. That is fine, as long as you aren't ignorant to it!

So let's get directly to the products I have used and learn more about them.

First of all, Naked Gut.

Naked Gut contains only 7 natural ingredients, including prebiotics, probiotics, L-glutamine,  and inulin.

Naked Gut by Naked Nutrition

The benefits are that it will help you digest and absorb nutrients better. It will help boost your immune system, and can help reduce digestive discomfort you may be experiencing. This alone won't heal or reverse leaky gut (sorry!) but it can be part of a protocol that can! (I would recommend much higher doses of L-glutamine for one thing to help heal leaky gut).

The source of inulin in this specific product is from Jerusalem artichokes. I think that is pretty cool because as a gardener, this is my first year growing them and they have thrived somehow in the raging Texas heat and drought this year! (By the way, it is one of the few perennial vegetables that you can grow!)

My Jerusalem Artichokes

I put it in my roasted dandelion root herbal tea in the mornings. Every morning. It dissolves easily and doesn't have a taste, which makes it a good choice to add to morning beverages.

Next, Naked Ade (Nakedade)

NakedAde is just what you think it is: Electrolyte replacement! (like Gatorade if you haven't caught on). It does taste a bit like Gatorade, too, even though I never liked Gatorade. And I don't LOVE the taste like I do something as delicious as Pepsi!! (hahah I know, I shouldn't drink Pepsi, and I don't... except on rare occasions. Instead, I drink Zevia cola, which barely even touches the craving, but it is better than nothing and way better for you than Pepsi).

Nakedade powder packets are easy to use!

Many athletes will use this before, during and after a workout.

I honestly only use this Nakedade when I am in need of electrolytes or dehydrated, because I usually drink salt water sole' and use cream of tartar (for potassium) instead. Since I work from home, I am almost always home and have the salt water sole' available to me. But when I went to San Antonio last weekend, I took these with me, because you just dump the powder into your water bottle and shake and drink. VERY easy to travel with.

This gives you the necessary electrolytes so you won't get dehydrated. Being dehydrated is very dangerous to some people, especially those with adrenal insufficiency. I have a friend who passed away from dehydration during a stomach flu! She had adrenal insufficiency. I know how dangerous that is because I, too, have adrenal issues and so in the past when I have had the norovirus, within 24 hours of not being able to keep anything down, I had to go to the ER to get fluids intravenously. I don't play games with dehydration! I just went and told them what's up, I am sick with the stomach flu, am dehydrated and need fluids. That way they didn't have to waste time triaging me.

What's Important

What is important to me in a supplement? Honesty, clean ingredients, quality and effectiveness. When I am doing something for my health I am not like my husband. My husband won't take anything unless it is delicious. I will take something that isn't as tasty as I would prefer (like the nakedade) if it benefits my health. As long as it isn't nasty. This is not nasty at all. I hope you will try it, even though it tastes like Gatorade to me and I am not a fan of Gatorade and never have been. Many people love the taste! This has way better ingredients, is better for you, and that is more important than anything!

A New Weight Loss Formula!

Weight Loss Formula 2 (Herbal Tincture)

This is my second weight loss formula, with some different and additional ingredients. This weight loss formula 2 (herbal tincture) is made from high quality herbs and ingredients -- some of which may have grown in my garden! Many people have a difficult time losing weight no matter what they try. That is so frustrating! These ingredients I have chosen help in individual ways, and I hope they work for you, too!

Here are the ingredients in this formula:

Garcinia Cambogia:  Studies of garcinia cambogia have shown that it significantly lowers LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and increases beneficial HDL cholesterol and urinary fat metabolites (markers of fat oxidation). It lowers leptin, therefore decreasing appetite and it promotes a release of serotonin in the brain which supports healthy weight control. Garcinia cambogia also improves melatonin metabolism and increases energy stores in the liver and other tissues, thereby improving energy and reducing appetite. It reduces insulin resistance. Great for weight loss support.

Ceylon Cinnamon: Cinnamon has been shown to reduce some of the bad effects of eating high-fat foods. This can help in an overall weight loss plan. Its effect on blood glucose levels can also help your body ultimately lose weight. Scientists report that cinnamon improves insulin sensitivity and reduces the accumulation of white fat in adipose tissue, the kind that "pads" your body.

Gymnema Sylvestre: This reduces blood sugar levels. So if you are hypoglycemic, you will want to avoid this formula. (I always err on the side of caution when it comes to customers. I want you to be safe, first and foremost!!) If you are diabetic, this is still safe to take, but just monitor your blood glucose levels as you normally would. In fact, in India this herb is used specifically for diabetes. Gymnema’s role in insulin secretion and cell regeneration may also contribute to its blood-sugar-lowering capabilities. Higher insulin levels mean that sugar is cleared from your blood at a faster rate. If you have prediabetes or type 2 diabetes, your body tends to not make enough insulin, or your cells become less sensitive to it over time. This results in consistently high blood sugar levels. Gymnema sylvestre may stimulate insulin production in your pancreas, promoting the regeneration of insulin-producing islet cells. This can help lower your blood sugar levels

By blocking sweet receptors on your taste buds, Gymnema sylvestre may cause you to eat fewer sweet foods and consume fewer calories.

Coleus Forskohlii: coleus forskohlii is used to treat allergies, skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, obesity, painful menstrual periods, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), urinary tract infections (UTI), bladder infections, advanced cancer, blood clots, sexual problems in men, trouble sleeping (insomnia), and convulsions. Coleus aids weight loss by helping create enzymes called lipase and adenylate cyclase.

Phellodendron: When Phellodendron amurense is combined with other herbs such as magnolia, it has been found to help promote weight loss. When combined with magnolia in particular, Phellodendron amurense was shown to relieve transitory anxiety in premenopausal women and thus reduce stress-associated over-eating. A 2006 study found that Phellodendron amurense helped healthy, overweight premenopausal women (20-50 years of age) reduce their stress eating. They had lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol at the end of the day, felt more able to manage their stress, and gained significantly less weight than the control group during the study.

Fenugreek: Based on the available evidence, fenugreek has benefits for lowering blood sugar levels, boosting testosterone, and increasing milk production in breastfeeding mothers. Fenugreek may also reduce cholesterol levels, lower inflammation, and help with appetite control.

Magnolia Bark: Magnolia bark increases GABA activity, which means that it quiets the excitatory neurons in the brain, producing a calming effect, which helps reduce anxiety and promote sleep. It also reduces adrenaline and cortisol, two major stress hormones. Indirectly lower levels of adrenaline and cortisol lead to better sleep as well. Cortisol is linked with weight gain (that too with fat in the abdominal area), sugar control problems, memory issues and other stress related disorders. It also has shown potential to help with anxiety.

Herbal tinctures as medicine

Why are tinctures a preferred method of taking herbs? Because tinctures are potent! You don't waste your money on pills that have been in the manufacturing process for months / years and lose potency! With an alcohol base, the tinctures pull out all the medicinal benefits of the plant, and preserve them naturally for you! They don't lose potency over time.

With that being said, they are in a non-gmo vodka base. Which is fine for most people. But some people prefer to avoid alcohol in all forms. (even by avoiding real vanilla extract) and we support that choice. These tinctures aren't for those people. Because of the potential for bacteria to reside in glycerine tinctures, we have decided to only offer vodka based tinctures. These herbs are edible and considered safe for most people. Some people may be allergic to certain herbs and should not use them. It is always best to consult your doctor before using any herbal product if you are taking prescription medications or have a health condition.

INGREDIENTS:  Garcinia Cambogia, Ceylon Cinnamon, Fenugreek, Gymnema Sylvestre, Coleus Forskohlii, Phellodendron, Magnolia Bark and non-GMO Vodka

DIRECTIONS: Take 20-30 drops 2-3x per day in juice or tea as desired. The tincture should last 2-3 weeks if you take it 2x per day. You CAN take this directly under your tongue but like most tinctures, the taste can be unpleasant. When I do this, I always chase it with something sweet.
