Do Detox Foot Pads Work?

Detox foot pads are natural detoxifying patches that are worn on the soles of the feet. The foot pads are said to draw harmful toxins from the body. People that use them find they are reliable solutions for detox that literally help them feel better. Others are more skeptical and are holding out for scientific tests. Yet like many alternative, folk, or ancient healing practices, the natural ingredients contained in the pads do have healthful properties that support the use of these patches for detoxifying purposes. Since they're non-invasive and all-natural, they're worth considering since we come into contact with toxins and pollutants every day.

Detoxifying Agents
Some people drink teas that help cleanse the body; others, of course, prefer to wear detox foot pads at night when they sleep. These adhesive patches are places on the feet where they are said to draw toxins from the body. Just as many toxins may be released through the sweat, the ingredients appear to draw toxins from the body. Overtime, the body achieves a natural detox. One pad isn't enough to rid the body of its toxins, but people do find that a healthful regimen that includes foot pads which enhance the way they feel.

Why Should We Detoxify?
In a way, the body is always working to detoxify itself. The liver and kidneys, for instance, work to rid toxins from our bodies. While the best way to promote a clean body is to eat right, we still can't help coming into contact with pollutants and toxins or heavy metals that may be contained the air we breathe or water we drink. Detoxifying the body is an ancient practice. The ingredients used in many detox foot pads have their roots in ancient Eastern medicine. Alternative medical practitioners routinely prescribe these natural healing remedies and even Western Medicine is trying to catch up with the ancient knowledge. For instance, many of today's medications are based on old folk remedies based upon herbs.

What Ingredients are in Detox Foot Pads?
When you purchase detox foot pads, look for products with no fillers. Some of the most popular foot pads include ingredients like oak vinegar, bamboo vinegar, eucalyptus, and Chitosan (shellfish) to name a few. Many also contain a plant called Houttuynia cordata which is native to Asia, but now grows in countries like the U.S. This particular plant's Japanese name literally means 'poison-blocking plant.' Like many folk and alternative health remedies, foot pad remedies and ingredients may vary. It's always ideal to purchase from reputable sellers that list their ingredients; you can then research each ingredient to better understand its efficacy.

Detox foot pads work for many people who use them regularly. The idea is to try them to see how you feel after using them for a prescribed period of time. Typically, one night won't result in noticeable results though you are likely to see the tell-tale brown staining on the pad after a single night of use telling you that they are working. If you are in search of a non-invasive--something you needn't digest, for instance--these foot pads may be the detox agent you've been waiting for.

Detox Foot Pads Get Lighter Over Time

I have been wearing my detox foot pads for a few weeks now, pretty consistently. They went from looking like this:

To looking like this: (notice how there are large amounts of white on them)

Except for my toes.. here is a picture of the detox foot pads that I put on my toes from last night:

The toes have NEVER come clean for me. But I will get back to that in a second. First, I want to say that I have NO DOUBT in my mind that the foot pads work to pull toxins out of my body. Not only do I sleep better (which is something I really need), I feel better and stronger when I wear them consistently. But beyond that, they are pulling less toxins out of my body over time because there are not as many toxins IN my body anymore... it makes sense to me.

Many people think the foot pads are a scam, and say that they turn dark because of sweat. If that was the case, then why are mine getting lighter and lighter as I wear them? Not because of sweat, but because of the decrease in toxins in my body for them to take out.
The toes are another story. Since wearing them inconsistently on and off for years, and more recently wearing them consistently on my toes, I still have not been able to get them to come "clean" in the morning like the other areas of my feet.

This means one of two things...

First, it could mean that the toxins in my head (the toes are the reflexology point for the head) are so prominent and overflowing that I just haven't been able to clean them out yet... get rid of them, etc. Many heavy metals have been in my head -- the mercury fillings in my mouth that I got as a kid (they are now replaced with composite fillings), the root canals, TMJ issues, migraines, I used to drink diet soda pop filled with aspartame which is a neurotoxin, etc etc etc. I also have a small tumor in my head, so whatever is going on is pretty bad, and I need to continue detoxing.

Second, it could mean that I am currently exposing myself to something toxic to my brain, and no matter what I do, since I keep exposing myself to it, they will never come clean.

There actually is a third option, which could be a mixture of those two.

If I am exposing myself to something toxic in my environment, I do not know what it is. I use all natural, homemade products for my showers (shampoo, soap, conditioner), I use homemade toothpaste, I use homemade lotions and natural deodorants and body sprays. I even use natural cleansing products except the occasional drano maybe once every few months when an old drain gets clogged.... I even use natural homemade laundry soap and I use vinegar as a fabric softener.

My diet is not 100% natural... I do eat some canned foods, or some processed foods, but not many. I do cook from scratch much of the time. And, I have avoided sugar (no sweets, no chocolate, candy or dessert!) for over 8 weeks now.

So, overall, I have been doing much better than the average American. And yet I still have toxins coming out of my head/toe area.

That is why it is so important for me to wear my foot pads. I will continue wearing them on my toes. I really want to get them to come back less toxic, and more clean. That will be a time to celebrate, for sure!

And from my own experience, I know that they work.

Detox Foot Pads a Scam?

There are many people out there that believe that detox foot pads are a scam. These people are even in the "natural health" community, and should be more open to alternative methods of getting healthy and staying healthy. But there have been reports on news channels that supposedly "prove" that the foot pads don't work.

I did write a blog post about this topic a few months back, but I wanted to expand on one facet of it right now.

One thing that many "unbelievers" say is that the foot pads react to the sweat coming from your feet during the night. I know that there are people out there that sweat profusely, but I am not one of them. I couldn't imagine sweating the amount of sweat that would be required to fill my detox foot pads with all the goo that they are filled with, come morning. My hubby's feet sweat, but even then they are just clammy, not dripping with sweat.

Now, I haven't consistently worn my foot pads in YEARS. Back in 2003-2004 I was wearing them quite often. They started out dripping with goo but then gradually became lighter until I was detoxed. Then, I would only wear them a couple times a month, and sometimes even then I wouldn't wear them. So the toxins built back up over the years... (simple math, more input of toxins, less output.) Since I have been doing a big social media push (please visit my Facebook page and become a fan!) I decided I would commit to wearing them consistently until they become clean again... so that is what I am doing. I am almost 2 weeks into wearing them nightly, minus a couple nights that I forgot. The pads have gradually gotten lighter in just a mere two weeks.

I also took pictures. Here is a picture of my first night.

And here is a picture of last night (about 11 days of wearing the foot pads.)

I have pictures of all of the days in between, as they gradually get less toxic each day. If the foot pads turned dark because of sweat, then why aren't they the same consistently? Why do they end up with no goo on them when I am all detoxed? That argument to try to prove that the detox foot pads DON'T work just doesn't hold water.

Yes, it is true that if you place the foot pads under water, they will turn dark. But the consistency is different than when you put them on your feet. They are herbs, of course they are going to turn dark like a tea bag turns dark when you seep it in water. But the goo that ends up on them after wearing them is thicker.

So hopefully when people wonder if detox foot pads are a scam, they can take some logic and put it into their decision making process. Purify Your Body's detox foot pads are the highest quality on the market, and they DO work. I offer a money back guarantee, and BELIEVE in them. They don't have any fillers like competitor's brands, and I don't rip you off. I provide a good quality product, no fillers, etc. I want to tout that my ingredients are all natural, and some are organic. But my competitors do that, as well... of course these ingredients are all natural. You wouldn't put synthetic herbs into a tea bag, would you? Nope. Tea is natural, too. The herbs in my foot pads are natural, as well. That is a given.

So, try them out. Request a free sample from me. Like Purify Your Body on Facebook. Read the testimonials. I promise you they are not faked. They are real people with real experiences. I haev over 5,000 customers worldwide who love my foot pads. I have companies around the world re-selling my brand of foot pads. I have people using them for many different things. Some are really sick and they find relief with the foot pads. Others, like me, don't have any chronic illness but yet want the health benefit of keeping toxins out of my body.

I sleep a LOT better when wearing foot pads. I feel better when I get more sleep. Many people report this same thing. And, a free sample isn't going to hurt you. So go to my website and go to the contact us page. Put in your mailing address so that I can mail you out a free sample. Try them. See what they do for you.

And thank you for trying them.

Are Detox Foot Pads a Scam?

MSNBC and NPR and probably a host of other news corporations did tests on a brand of detox foot pads that I will not name, nor will I ever use or recommend. They start with a "K". Because the foot pads are filled with cornstarch (the generic name for "dextrin" or "vegetable fiber") you can assume that they barely pulled anything out of your body through your feet, onto the foot pad. And the test results proved that. They aren't going to damage you (except your wallet). They just won't do any good.

Purify Your Body Detox Foot Pads. The right one was one that I used on my feet. The left one is "before"

What really gets me ticked off is that they immediately lump every brand of foot pad into this same pile, and scream "They are all a scam! Don't waste your money!" It is like testing a Toyota for brake failure, and saying that all cars have brake failure. This is not true. Or  I would be riding my bicycle vs. my 10-year old Dodge Ram pickup truck!

I get email after email from my customers, telling me why they continue to buy my foot pads month after month. They sleep so well after using them, and feel refreshed. They don't get migraines anymore, they use them for gout flareups, and then more consistently to stop flareups from happening. Fibromyalgia, inflammation, chronic immune disorders... They help with ear infections and cancer treatments. (If someone decides to choose chemotherapy or radiation for cancer treatment, Purify Your Body detox foot pads help with the side effects). They truly DO pull out toxins, heavy metals, etc.

Before I even created Purify Your Body as a business years ago (2005), I had sent in some foot pads for testing. I wish I kept those results to post them. They proved to me that the foot pads were doing something besides just creating a placebo effect on me, because honestly, I was feeling great!

Why do people need to continue using them? Well, I know that I am exposed to a lot of toxins every day, in the foods I eat (although I try to eat healthy), in the commercial shampoos and makeup I wear (again, I try to limit my exposure, but I still purchase my favorite drugstore conditioner, loaded with parabens and other toxins... Infusium 23 is one of my faves). I eat a ton of chocolate, I don't exercise nearly as often as I should, and while I am not overweight, I of course wish that my muscle tone was better than it was! I breathe exhaust fumes, sometimes am exposed to secondhand smoke, and sometimes drink soda pop! I clean mostly with all natural cleansers (but not all, I still use a few bleach based products) So even in my life, while actively trying to avoid toxins, I still get a large dose every day. Most of the rest of our society doesn't even take the drastic measures I take, so I can imagine the toxins that are finding their way into their bodies. Especially those who work in labs, factories or beauty salons and are exposed to harsh chemicals all the time, or landscapers who expose themselves to commercial fertilizers or pesticides or herbicides.

So, what can you do? Well, I am pretty much in control of my toxins. (haha, that sounds funny!) I use my foot pads only on the weekends, and I don't get much goo out like I used to. So as long as I consistently use them, and watch my toxin levels, I feel pretty good :)
I truly recommend my detox foot pads as a way to good health. It may take months of using them to have the goo stop coming out like a faucet at night... it may be an ongoing thing you want to do every weekend like I do. It may spur you into trying to avoid more toxins in your life as well. You may only want to try it a few times and realize that it isn't for you, putting on foot pads at night and peeling them off in the morning and washing your feet. But there may come a day when you are feeling so lethargic and sick, that you will decide it is worth it.

Purify Your Body was created in 2005, and I feel I have the best ingredient combination in my foot pads. There are no fillers, none of that cornstarch in the foot pad. So, my foot pads cost a little more than other brands to make.... but I am adamant about good quality ingredients, my factory is ISO certified, registered with the FDA and gets audited to make sure they are really doing what they are supposed to be doing in a safe environment. Yes, they are made overseas in China. Most all of them are made in Asia, I think only one brand is made in Africa. But throughout my dealings with factories in China over the years, I know that there are some (definitely not all) that actually produce good products with quality raw materials, AND treat their employees decent. China gets a bad rap, sure, but if there were a factory that made them in the U.S. I would definitely look into changing facilities. As it stands now, there is none. And no chance in the foreseeable future.

I am a one-person business. I am the one who responds to all emails, fills all orders (sometimes with help from my husband or my dogs, don't know which one is more helpful hah). I am a real person, who cares about my customers and communicate with them on an individual basis. I have full confidence in the quality of my foot pads, and offer a money back guarantee. I ship within one business day, with few exceptions. If you want to return your foot pads, you don't have to wait 90 days to get reimbursed...  (I actually have about 1 or 2 people per year that want to return my foot pads!).

I try to always be honest, and give the best advice I know how. I am not a medical doctor. I am a fanatic about natural health. I am a firm believer in getting your nutrition from REAL FOOD, and exercising, and buying local, and meditating and giving thanks for your blessings. I am pretty much against western medicine that treats symptoms vs. the cause, and just slaps a person with meds to address the symptoms (usually resulting in more symptoms from the side effects). But I have a huge respect for our trauma care, and love how advanced medical technology has gotten in keeping a person alive after a car crash, or other horrendous accident.

So, all in all, that is Purify Your Body, and my detox foot pads. I have customers all over the world. I offer free priority mail shipping to all U.S. and military addresses, and usually throw in an extra pack as my way of saying thank you to our military. I do charge for international shipping, and wish it was cheaper than it is, but I don't regulate postage prices.

I am very blessed to have all of you reading this, and thankful for all my customers. When I think of the the blessings I have in my life, my customers definitely are at the top of my list.
Try the foot pads out. I offer free samples, just visit my site and send an email to me. Sometimes I include a discount coupon as well :)

And to finally answer the question, Are detox foot pads a scam? Some are, some aren't. Purify Your Body detox foot pads definitely are NOT a scam. They are the real deal.
