These oven mitts / silicone gloves take time to psyche yourself up to test them out! I can't get it through my head that these will protect my hands from the burning roasting pan in the oven.
But they do! And they don't get grimy and gross like my other oven mitts do. These are waterproof and of course, heat resistant up to 425 degrees F.
They are easy to grip so you won't have a hot dish sliding from your hands, which is a huge positive as I have had a dish fall and break as I was carrying it from the oven (oops). Thankfully I was wearing long pants and shoes and stepped out of the way in time. I am fast like a ninja when I want to be.
The orange color is not my favorite, I would have preferred a gorgeous turquoise! But you won't lose them, even when you use them outside with your BBQ grill in the middle of winter.
They are BPA free and the FDA has approved the use of silicone for this purpose. You can even put them in the dishwasher to get them clean!
